Technical advice

Supply of artwork

If you are not using our in-house designers, use the following hints and tips to save time on common mistakes:

Logos
Should be supplied as a vectorised EPS.

Photographs
Save at 300dpi and in CMYK format, do not leave as RGB which is a PC format and not suitable for litho printing.

Layout
If colour prints to the edge of the sheet you should add bleed of 3mm over the edge of the finished size.

Paper Size Guide
A PDF document can be found on the downloads page giving the exact dimensions of various sizes of paper according to the international paper size standard, ISO 216.

Colour
Please be aware that colour can appear differently to how it is seen on screen and when output on various digital devices, it is advisable to allow for a digital proof which allows you to check layout, images and gives a closer idea of how the colour may look when printed, alternatively a machine proof can be arranged at additional cost. For further advice on colour a PDF document can be found on the downloads page entitled 'Helping You With Colour'.

Typefaces
Include all fonts to be used and embed them within PDFs. Try to avoid using truefont types.
